New Toys!

Over the past week, my family and I have bought some new toys to add on to our "collection", mainly for use on our Russia trip lar...

Finally, we got ourselves another DV camera after the SONY one got eaten up by a sand storm in China 3 years back...the sand went inside and destroyed the chip board...

Decided to get myself a portable MP3 player and Creative seems like the more reliable model, only thing was I remembered TX as NX and got myself the USB 1.1 player, slower transfer but oh well, things do happen and to err is human...*roll eyes*

Taking a break...

Last Friday was my last working day before a 2 weeks break. Went for a medical appointment at ENT last Wednesday and doc said that there was a unsual lump of tissue at the back of my left nostril and they took samples to send for lab testing in order to rule out cancer. First, they had to take tissue from 3 sections and every pinch by the claw or whatever you call it through the scope inside my nose hurt like hell! My whole body squirmed as the minor operation took place (without the consent form signed prior to that..haha...i should sue them right? ;-) and then before and after the operation, they stuck two rods with cotton bud into my nose, with anasthetic spray on the buds and made me look like an alien walking around...and I decied to have some fun by roaming about..haha
Got a MC for that but the nose kept bleeding until Sunday...and I could not blow my nose! Arghhh...

Saturday came and I went out with Eng Wee and Jiyuan, well this broke the cycle of Me-Eng Wee-Jiyuan followed by Me-Eng Wee- Guowei, but oh well, met Guowei on the bus 2 weeks back on Monday...ent bowling at Chevrons and my hands still hurt from the 10-pound ball and any sports in our hands would turn comical..haha

As I am blogging now, there is less than 24 hours to my departure to Russia. To the many people asking me "Why Russia?" in my camp, if you ever get to read this, it is because I want to go some place that is out of the ordinary, a place where the culture is different, somewhere exotic in its own sense and not the typical kind of overseas trip, it must be somewhat unique and I want to bring back something in my mind, to get intellectually enhanced while relaxing...

And this time around, I have loaded 41 songs into my Creative Nomad MuVo for enroute enjoyment and revive my Sony Clie and loaded it with....

The not-so-latest technology in mobile blogging. I will be blogging real time on my Palm and when I get back and be done with the HotSync, you, yes you, will be reading everything on my trip as if it was your first-hand experience!

Adios! Everyone!

Evolution...

My brother and future sister-in-law set off for their 3-week New Zealand trip today. Sent them off at the airport just now with some butterflies in my stomach. They have finished their final modules in NTU a few weeks back...My bro has a girlfriend, they have graduated from Uni, and me, almost at the point of 1 year till ORD, the whole dynamics of my family has evolved...

Today was my bro's 24th birthday and 2 weeks back, was my Mum's and following that, Mothers' Day. Things have dulled a lot in comparision to previous years and a simple dinner and cake-cutting was all that were celebrated in. The flowers (which has stopped more than a decade ago, cos it was impractical) and the cards were no more, so were the gifts. Essentially, everyday now is like a celebration. Just being together was enough to be delighted and content about. Special occasions are now like every norm al day, but I am that tad unsure if this due to the evolution of dyanmics or is it a emminent sign of things to come?

The economy is evolving into a better era, with General Elections coming up next year, that's not really a miracle...inflation pressure is setting in very fast, and my dad could be out of job by the end of the year...I can't get a scholarship and Uni fees may go up....pessimistic ol' me, you say..oh well, I hope things turns out well

Wow, I didn't blog for the whole month of April! Just in case anyone's wondering where I went to? I went nowhere...but majority of the Bn went Brunei for Ex Lancer...

Thinking that they will bring along all work with them and I can seriously work 9-5 daily,I opted out from going..yah..I sort of had a choice but alas it was not to be! The stupid Armour Anniversary Parade and the "gei-kiang" superior who did not go to Lancer landed me in hot soup. He went to ask for authority to loan parade dress before details were finalised, resulting in me having make, cancel the loan with the base 3 times over. If he had waited that tad longer, things would not have been so complicated.

When BMT enlistement for the new company came, it was funny feeling with me standing in front of them, going through their kit pack, doing kit exchange and seeing the blur looks, filled with uncertainties and looking back upon more than a year ago, that was what I have went through...weird...
