10 APRIL 2005

The end is nearer, the dark clouds are floating away faster and the days has just got brighter! That's my new ORD date, yes, a full 2 months earlier and my countdown has dropped to starting with the digit 2! Woohoo! Jubliation is not enough to describe my current feelings!

2 months: too short for a job, except for freelance, but just right for a holiday! Yey!And my crab in the cage will be away for 1 week from tomorrow, I am going back to my Ortho specialist tomorrow, hopefully to get a useful memo and get posted out and now my last BMT course is Dec 04!Except that we will be on Alert Red again next Tuesday...

I believe everyone's basking in joy now, and for this one and only time, LIFE ROX!

Whew, what a hectic week since returning from my break, things are back into more than full swing now...Saturday was spent waiting for a turn out that never materialised..lucky for that, booked out at a record late time at 1345hrs, and slept from 3pm-8pm for a much needed rest.

Mock Activation

Woken up aruptly at 8:10am this morning with a SMS, claiming an activation, where time of activation = 0745hrs, meaning that I must reach by 0845hrs. Crap, changed without washing up, without eating my breakfast and rushed back to camp, something which I would normally take my time. Upon reaching, it then came to light that the real activation time was to be 1000hrs, but due to trial purpose, we were given ample time to report back, but I was not informed. Sighz...and a good half-day was burnt waiting and listening to the shallow conversations of soccer-betting (PS, if those who were involved in the conversation gets to read this, sorry but that's exactly how I felt)

Rest in peace, Mr Ho...

Went for the wake of Mr Ho this afternoon, which brought about a mini 4M gathering which was in the most unexpected manner. Very sad that his death could actually be due to a delay in diagnosis. He was the teacher which all students would have no qualms about, and apparently all kind-hearted souls whom are humane, helpful and never gives up on his student are always called back earlier. If things are fated this way, life's really unfair. Mdm Wei has slimmed down a great deal since the last time I saw her, pulling herself through the 3-year ordeal with her beloved. My greatest condolences goes out to her. She still has along way to go in raising the two children, which will serve as the memories of her husband.

何老师,我们永远怀念着您。

**So much things have happened, I guess I will be writing my travel log some time later, but maybe not in this blog, but in a separate, new section...

Shag...

Returned to camp today to be greeted with the Bn turning on Alert Red Standby duties, false turnout had been scrambling like hell when I have only packed the full pack just some half an hour back, thinking that this was gonna be similar to the Alert Amber we had last year...had to draw arms, change my expired FAD, draw the pager etc etc...all within the half an hour..sighzz...why am I in an active unit...

So shagged that I missed the passing of Venus across the sun..8 years...wait...waiting...

Backlog

Not much has been done while I was gone, looks like I have lots of catching up to do...and I got news that next weekend would be burnt cos the Bn going to Tekong and those staying cannot book out...fair? I call it illogical..well, its the SAF...

Ever wondered...

Singapore's mobile phone pentration has reached 83%, whereas for pagers...as abstracted from the Computer Times:
"2003: Almost obsolete. In April this year, there were only 242,700 pa-gers with a penetra-tion rate of only 5.8 per cent. "

Wondering who are the idiots who are still using that few thousand pagers? (I believe the numbers have dropped even further since a year ago...) Well, the SAF! And right now, I am one of those idiots with a huge Motorola pager which I have to carry with me at all times...

Updates

New template! The range of ready-made templates in Blogger has increased in quantity and improved in quality so I decided to pick one for myself...pretty nice and neat!

If you have been looking for my Russia Travel Log...you may have to wait a while more..din have the feeling to start writing over the weekend, so most prob shall be doing it this weekend since I dun think I wanna go out with the impending possibility of activation...

Greetings from Finland!

Hi everybody from Vantaa Airport, Helsinki..using paid internet right now so shall keep this short...about to board my flight bsck to Singapore via Bangkok, but it has just been delayed till 0030hrs local time from the original 2335hrs...today has really been a bad day, starting with the massive traffic jam on the Moscow highway to the ariport, causing to reach only 50 minutes to departure time, and I had only 5 minutes left when the stupid Customs officer b**** could not find my extension and could not undertsand English, causing me to be unable to leave the customs area..gonna lodge a complaint when I get back...

Okay, that's about all for now, oh yah, AvantBlog was not working on my Sony Clie, so I will be typing everything with after-event feelings at home...

Ciao!
